Misfit is undoubtedly the most detailed project I have ever done. Each skateboard deck has approximately 100 drawings which all fit like a puzzle. I carefully drew the decks to actual size with colored pencils so that it appear to be drawn directly onto the skateboard. The name Misfit is a reference to how the skateboarder culture feels in society. Have fun scavenging through all the cool things hidden in these designs!

Film Leader is a magazine I designed in 2014. The magazine is comprised of articles on every type of movie from animation to independent. One feature I am proud of making is page numbers that represent a films beginning countdown. Subtly behind the page numbers are roman numerals, which are how scene numbers are written in scripts. All the advertising are redesigns of companies ads I found in the local area. A lot of work went into making this, but I think it was worth it.

When designing this company, I did an extensive amount of research on the history of international shipping; I wanted to have the logo tell this story. Every element of the branding tells the history, and avoids the tedious clichés in this industry. Seventh Voyageur stands out from its predecessors, but achieves the goal of communicating the brand’s overall message.

I chose to re-brand this musical because it is an underappreciated story of learning that popularity is not what makes you happy. Also the branding appeared to be more like a children’s sitcom than an internal character struggle. I designed the poster with the 13 on a silhouette to best represent the story. The silhouette shows how Evan feels about moving to a new town after his parents’ recent divorce; like a rarely noticed shadow that unwillingly follows. The 13 is strategically placed to show how his birthday is plaguing his mind becoming the only importance in his life. This was a fun project to make; I hope you like it.

This story has been bouncing around my imagination since 2012. I originally wanted to make it a videogame; but due to the lack of resources, I figured the best way to tell my story is in the form of a graphic novel hybrid. I had the idea because I wanted to describe the complications of emotions and relationships though a novel, and show the action of fights through the panels of a comic: this was my solution.
